Computer Component Upgrade Parts Of A Computer Essay
Digital Technology Internal BMC 11INTE_02 3 March 2016 Computer Component Upgrade Parts of a Computer Processor A Processor is the ââ¬Ëworkhorseââ¬â¢ of the computer doing all of the calculations and processes that are required to power the computer programs that the user are is running. A processor would find it hard to keep up with all of the most current programs that needed to be run if it only had one section that could operate. So over time, CPUââ¬â¢s have been engineered to have more than one processor, known a core, so that it can do more things at once, or spread out the workload. If a processor has 2 cores, it means there are 2 independent cores that can read and execute commands. It is like two CPUââ¬â¢s in one. This means that the processor can achieve much better performance than if it only had one core. Processing takes power in the form of electricity, and it gets that from the power from the mains that are in your house or building. This power is then split up by the power supply, which is plugged into the wall. The power is transferred to the motherboard using a cable running from the PSU, it is plugged in to the motherboard using a 4 pin, 8 pin, or 4+4 pin connector where the power is transferred through some of the pins where the CPU connects to the motherboard. The CPU connects into the motherboard by a series of pins or exposed metal. There are 6 typical ways that the CPU can connect into the motherboard, these are called called PGAââ¬â¢s, or Pin GridShow MoreRelatedEssay about Chapter 1 Lab848 Words à |à 4 PagesChapter 1 First Look at Computer Parts and Tools Lab 1.1 Record Your Work and Make Deliverables Review Questions 1. American Exceptionalism Free Essays
The term American Exceptionalism has many definitions to many different people. In general it refers to the idea that the United States of America holds the special title of worldwide peace keeper and bringer of justice and democracy as they are the land of the free. American Conservatives; such as the Tea Party, also pair the phrase up with the idea of superiority; whereas liberals would much more prefer Americans to see their country as ââ¬Ëordinaryââ¬â¢ and so dislike the term. We will write a custom essay sample on American Exceptionalism or any similar topic only for you Order Now To them ordinary means things like American does not always assume its place as the worldââ¬â¢s super power but simple acts as an international negotiator in times of need. The terminology was coined in 1831 by Alexis de Tocqueville as to explain a positive outward effect of Americaââ¬â¢s democracy. In 1929 the phrase was used adversely by the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin, when opposing the idea of the growth of capitalism in the states. In theory, American Exceptionalism works because of four key principles: divine right, resources, just beliefs and diversity. Many believe that the United States was chosen by God to lead the world and so they have the divine power to act in such a way over other countries. Although, others feel that the sheer wealth and resources the country has- such as the most powerful armed forces in the world gives them this power. Some consider the strong ideas and principles that the country was founded on as to the reason they have a greater say; whereas others argue that it is the mix of heritage and cultures, which makes America a kind of highbred of the best of the world, allowing for it to have this exceptional place in the world today. An odd and contradicting feature of the concept is that as an America knows best; they may over power their own legal system, other countries and conduct various types of secret activities if to protect the democratic system and state interests. America knows best: we must invade Iraq to free the people there from the dictatorship they live in, and then as a secondary thought because, they may have weapons of mass destruction (and oil that could be a lot of use to us). The idea that hacking peopleââ¬â¢s internet history and phone calls is just and fine, because the government can act beyond its means, as in the end they are protecting people from themselves- since they know best! The idea of Exceptionalism has allowed America to involve itself in many conflicts since the Mexican- American War of1846; where the Americans refused to accept that Mexico did not want to be a part of the United States and felt it was their mission to spread ââ¬Ëfreedomââ¬â¢ to the people of Mexico, right through to the Iraq war. During the Cold War the power of American Exceptionalism was used to display the American way of life as the right way and to try and crush the rising power of Communism. Ronald Reagan famously said that America had a duty to be ââ¬Å"shining city on the hillâ⬠that the rest of the world would look up to. There are many positives and yet, many negatives of American Exceptionalism, and it is the principles of the term itself have brought about its demise. The waters have been muddied and so there are now many variations of the meaning of the words, which depend on the people using them. There is a spectrum of opinion: to some America is the almighty bringer of justice, and may do this by any means as long as they reach their end target of a freer and fair world. By contrast, others feel that Exceptionalism is simply used as a cover for the falling giant to do whatever it wants; from the invasions of lesser off countries, to spying on the day to day lives of millions of Americans. The use of Exceptionalism in foreign policy is often questioned; is it just a front the country can hide behind when actually working for personal gains rather than the good of the people? The expression is often used today in questioning Americaââ¬â¢s place as a super power. At a press conference in 2009 Obama was asked about his belief in American Exceptionalism he said: ââ¬Å"I believe in American Exceptionalism, just as I suspect the Brits believe in British Exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek Exceptionalismâ⬠. In 2013 Mitt Romney used this comment to attack Obama, stating that he did not believe in the power of the United States as a power, yet them comment had little power as the term has been lost somewhat. The majority of the countries have democracy, or have made a greater step towards it over the last century, leaving America with a much lesser role as the bringer of social equality. American Exceptionalism has shaped the world we live today, without it both America and Britain would not be looked to as a role model of strong democratic systems and equality. The idea has brought the same concepts to many other countries and helped to advance areas such as industry and the role of women. However, in recent years the power of American Exceptionalism has faded and the flaws have become more visible. The positive effects of American Exceptionalism are now much gentler, and the goal is more to help countries create justice, rather than impose Americaââ¬â¢s view. How to cite American Exceptionalism, Papers American Exceptionalism Free Essays Throughout the history of America, many historians have referred to Americaââ¬â¢s role in the world as being exceptional. American Exceptionalism is a belief that the United States is significantly different from other countries in the world. Many view America as being exceptional due to the unique way the United States was founded and Americanââ¬â¢s view on liberty. We will write a custom essay sample on American Exceptionalism or any similar topic only for you Order Now The founding fathers of America strived to make freedom the backbone of the country. Many of those who immigrated to the states did so due to persecution from their native countries. America was different from any other country because its sole purpose was to be a safe haven for its citizens where one could have freedom. According to Matthew Spalding, ââ¬Å"The American Revolution drew on old ideas. The United States is the product of Western civilization, shaped by Judeo-Christian culture and the political liberties inherited from Great Britainâ⬠(p. 1). Americaââ¬â¢s founding principles make it exceptional because it placed authority in the hands of the citizens where as most other countries have resorted to governing monarchies, dictators, and even tyrannies. Americaââ¬â¢s view on providing liberties such as religious freedom, freedom of speech, and the right to live ones own life make it an exception from the rest of the world. Because of this, many believe that Americaââ¬â¢s Exceptionalism makes it superior. ââ¬Å"World History In Briefâ⬠states, ââ¬Å"The nationââ¬â¢s federal system led to a fairly weak central government, and many major developments were the result of state action or business initiativesâ⬠(p. 419). The lack of regulation in industries allows more businesses to flourish and try new ventures. The financial opportunities America provides for families and individuals is quite high compared to other nations. According to Forbes, ââ¬Å"The typical person in the bottom 5 percent of the American income distribution is still richer than 68 percent of the worldââ¬â¢s inhabitantsâ⬠(p. 2). The financial success in America definitely contributes to Americaââ¬â¢s Exceptionalism. One must question whether or not American Exceptionalism really makes ità superior than other countries. While the founding principles and way of life might be significantly diverse, historical events in America show that there are flaws in the system. The United States has a history of slavery, racial discrimination, and limits on who can vote. While present day America allows for both men and women to vote and has made slavery illegal, the blunders of the past are reminiscent of suppression and limited rights for women and minorities in other countries. America was founded on principles of freedom unlike any other country. Itââ¬â¢s differences make it unique throughout the world and a view of American Exceptionalism has been created. While this theory is looked at in a positive light, itââ¬â¢s important to also take into account the negative historical events in America. Currently, the United States is still one of the most powerful nations and provides hope to not only itââ¬â¢s citizens but also people around the world. How to cite American Exceptionalism, Papers

Strategic Global Business and Competitive Coca Cola
Question: Discuss about the Strategic Global Business and Competitive Coca Cola. Answer: Introduction: Coca cola is leading among the soft drink companies in the world, selling sparkly and still drinks. The company makes around 60% of its income and around 80% of its operational revenues from its divisions outside the United States having the most solid brand known all over the world. Liquid refreshment business brands market space is composed of the fruit beverages, energy drinks, sports beverages, bottled water and ready to drink tea and coffee(Feloni, 2015). On a scale basis, coca cola controls the largest market space. The products outstanding performance cannot be over highlighted.it stands out amidst all states and channels. Coca cola is not only the leading liquid refreshment beverage in the United States but also tops the global rankings in soft drinks, this is based on the product value. The brand also has the second highest number of fans on its Facebook page.(Bhasin, 2016) The most important factor for global companies is that they are able to find the correct combination of local and universal in their processes. The coca cola company is universal, yet the company is still locally relevant. The company may be giving their customers the same happy messages, the same product may be communicated to the clients but it is still done in a different manner in different countries(David Butler, 2015). Coca cola boasts of being a franchise structure. The bottles are sourced locally. For instance in Turkey, there are Turkish bottlers, in Kenya, coca cola bottlers and much more. This means that the success of the business depends on the value of the relationship the company has with the bottlers and the companys brand. To manage franchise relations, as a company, you have to have a geographical positioning. Worldwide, Coca-Cola Company has five functioning groups, Latin America, North America, Europe, Pacific and Eurasia combined with Africa(Vrontis, 2003). The juice franchise at the same time has necessitated a change in managerial structure, as compared to the sparkling drinks business. Raw materials are expensive with prices not being constant and there is an opportunity for the business to innovate faster. For instance, the company is capable of introducing four to five variances of their juice in a particular year. Thus, a matrix exists. In Atlanta, the company has a functional group which is responsible for juices globally, but still work through the topographical organizations(Vaid, 2015). The company has come out to state categorically that the franchise is still developing in a bid to finding the best indigenous and worldwide combination that will work for them. The companys relationship with the bottlers is local, decisions are made within the local context, quality standards are local (adhering to government standards). The company however has its own international, severe quality control criterions(Bhasin, 2016). The company stresses a collaborative process in its way of doing business to minimize conflicts and make decision making easy. There is a strong thread of uniformity among all the areas and all these regions remain linked to the head team in Atlanta through the investment and marketing societies. The company projects using todays demographics that in the year 2020, half of the changes will be in Eurasia and Africa, teenagers numbers will grow, urbanization and new players in the middle class. The consumptions of beverages are very low in these nations with South Africa recording about 250 drinks in a year for a person. This is above the international average. For Turkey, it is slightly higher than 150. The company strategy is to grow its Coke brand with its consumers locally(Vrontis, 2003). This the company achieves through the correct pricing, packaging, with smaller and larger packs, or take away packs. The company also places new coolers in the marketplace, then invest in people who activate the channels one by one. This is successful because in some of the markets coca cola has gone into, water and juice businesses flourish but tea and energy drink market is still emerging(Khanna, Palepu, Bullock, 2010). SWOT analysis Strengths Brand consciousness: The Company has marketed itself well and is one of the brands known globally. This is due to its signature logo. The company also has a large number of factions who incline not to move to other brands(Khanna, Palepu, Bullock, 2010). Delivery network: Its supply network also makes its products accessible to customers in more than 200 nations. Weaknesses Water managing: water is still a limited resource in some countries, yet still the major ingredient for Coca Cola Company. Many factories use water to make their products. This resource is also useful to the communities. These actions escalate the danger of pollution and poor managing. Variation in foreign exchange: the company gets revenue, pays expenditures and suffers liabilities in countries that do not use the US dollar(Vaid, 2015)r. Opportunities Diversification: the company has been working hard to figure an existence in the quickly developing beverage classes. It owns 16% of Keurig Green Mountain currently and still developing a fresh Keurig Kold device set to debut later on. Coca Cola also procured 17% stake in Monster drink. Threats Healthy choices: a cultural change towards natural and organic foods has steered many to go for dietary waters and other healthy beverage selections. This means that coca cola products with high quantities of sugar and sweeteners have fallen out of approval with several people. This trend is not likely to end soon because consumers are becoming more conscious about dieting. Incidental rivalry: minor franchise and retail shops offer clients healthy substitutes for carbonated drinks hence placing a cavity in the companys marketplace. Industry statistics suggest that clients will continue to be dragged away from rudimentary beverage selections in favor of customizable selections with greater nutritional value(Magretta, 2012). Conclusion Even though the company faces many challenges, it still possesses a pronounced deal for the future. Its financial resources, size and influence have it well placed to take benefit of valuable acquisition goals. The establishments brand charm and cut like following to ensure that the company will remain a top tier liquid refreshment supplier in years to come. Its massive delivery system should facilitate better capacities in the future and accomplishment in in mushrooming markets. All said, investors who are conservative and want a consistent source of revenue and a bit of investment achievements acquaintance might want to give the coca cola company a glimpse(Vrontis, 2003).
